Bulunmuş kopya kâğıtları
1980, İzmir doğumlu Zeyno Pekünlü sıradan metin ve görüntülerin biçimsel bozumu, bağlamsal kopuşu ya da kategorizasyonu yoluyla, malzemelerin toplumsal işlevlerini ters yüz eden işler yapıyor. Pekünlü 14. İstanbul Bienali için dünya üzerindeki bütün akademik bilgiyi kopya kâğıtları aracılığıyla bir araya getirmeyi hedefleyen bir koleksiyon projesi olan Minima Akademika’nın (2014) yeni bir versiyonunu üretti. Numaralı setler, öğrencilerin sınavlardan sonra buruşturarak sınıf ve amfilerin en bulunmayacak köşelerine attıkları gerçek kopya kâğıtlarının bir araya gelmesinden oluşmaktadır. Daha önce banka olarak kullanılan bir binadaki bu sanat kurumunun kütüphanesinde sergilenen dünyanın bu en küçük akademisinde mimarlıktan sanat tarihine, iktisattan tıbba, ticaretten dünya tarihine kadar pek çok bilgiye ulaşmak mümkündür. Bir sınav için kopya kâğıtları hazırlamak çok emek ister. Küresel finans sermayesi, akışlar ve gizli sırlarla sarmalanan çağımızda esas kopya çeken kim?

Found cheat sheets
Born in 1980 in İzmir, Zeyno Pekünlü makes works which invert the social functions of materials through deformation, contextual detachment and categorisation of ordinary texts and images. For the 14th Istanbul Biennial, Pekünlü has created a new version of Minima Akademika (2014), an ongoing collection project with the impossible aim of gathering all the academic information on Earth via cheat sheets. All the pieces forming the numbered sets of the collection are real cheat sheets that alumni crumpled and discarded after using in their exams. The academic information that can be found in this smallest academy of the world, displayed in the library of an art institution in a former bank, varies from architecture to art history, from economics to medicine, from trade to world history. A lot of work is required in the writing of exam cheat sheets, a craft in its own right considering the often minuscule writing. Who is cheating, in our age of global financial capital, flows and hidden secrets?
