Sonia Balassanian (d. 1942, İran) Ermeni asıllı bir aileye doğmuştur ve New York ile Ermenistan'da yaşamaktadır. Sonia Balassanian (b. 1942, Iran) was born to a family of Armenian origin, and lives and works in New York and Armenia. She holds a BFA from the joint program of Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She has taught at the Whitney Independent Study Program.
