Richard Ibghy (b. 1964, Montreal) and Marilou Lemmens (b. 1976, Ascot Corner) live and work in Montreal and Durham-Sud. Their artistic practice is grounded in a desire to materialise – or to demythologise – abstract thought, and explores the material, sensory, and subjective dimensions of experience that slip through the cracks of schematic representation. At the Montreal Biennial (2014), their installation The Golden USB gave form to the idea of an interstellar trade capsule. In 2011, for the 10th Sharjah Biennial, they realised two monumental wall murals representing the Supply and Demand for Immortality. Solo exhibitions include VOX, centre de l'image contemporaine, Montreal (2014) and Monte Vista Projects, Los Angeles (2012).
