INLAND, sürdürülebilirliğe toplumsal ve kültürel geçişle ilgili bir örgütlenme projesi ve katılımcı bir ajanstır. Zamanımızın en yakıcı meselelerinden bazıları kırsalda yaşanmaktadır: kültürlenme, özerklik, ekolojik modeller ve gıda üretimi, müştereklerin çitlenmesi ve işlevsel sanatın olası yeniden canlanması.
INLAND (2009’dan itibaren) García-Dory’nin topraklar, jeopolitika, kültür ve kırsal ile şehir arasındaki kimliğin rolünü araştıran devamlı ve hareketli projesidir. García-Dory sanat ve toprağın ekonomisinin yanı sıra, biyosferle etkileşime girme biçimlerimize odaklanır. INLAND, “olağanüstü hal koşullarında çalışan çoklu değerlere sahip, uzmanlaşmış seyyar birimler”den oluşan ve daima “‘resmi’ bir kurumla, yani bir devlet, bir şirket ya da bir sanat kurumuyla ilişki içinde” faaliyet gösteren bir karşı-kurum olarak tasarlanmıştır. Toplumsal bir hareketten bir devlete ya da çokuluslu bir zincire uzanan, toplumsal oluşumların ortaya çıkışı ve gelişimi üzerine düşünmeye bir giriş noktası sağlar. Toplum ve çevre arasındaki ilişkilerde mevcut eğilimlerin analizi ve yorumu için bir metodoloji olduğu gibi, çatışmayı yeniden anlayabilmeye dönük alternatif kültürel anlatıları işlemek ve yurttaşları kolektif eyleme geçebilmeleri yönünde güçlendirmek için bir araçtır.
INLAND is a project about an organisation for social and cultural transition towards sustainability, and a collaborative agency. The countryside is where some of the most pressing issues of our time are being played out: acculturation, autonomy, ecological models and food production, the enclosure of the commons, and the possible resurgence of functional art.
INLAND (2009–present) is an ongoing, mobile project by García-Dory that investigates the role of territories, geopolitics, culture, and identity between the countryside and the city. He focuses on the economics of art and land and the ways we interact with the biosphere. INLAND is envisioned as a para-institution of ‘polyvalent specialist mobile units working in emergency contexts’ that always operates ‘in relation to an “official” institution, that is, a state, a company, or an art institution’. This provides an entry point to think about the ‘growth and appearance of social formations, from a social movement to a state to a multinational chain’. It is a methodology for the analysis and interpretation of current trends in the relations between society and the environment, as well as a tool for processing alternative cultural narratives to re-understand conflict, empowering citizens to take collective action.
